而OLED则是一个个发光的小灯泡，就像我们很多个手电筒排成一个平面，需要组成某一个字符的时候，我们只需要开启相应路径上的手电筒就可以了。所以OLED可以做得很薄，颜色可以更鲜艳，亮度可以更高。

不过LCD也并不是一无是处。因为LCD可以通过简单的降低电压来降低整个屏幕的亮度，低亮度下屏幕不闪，并且还有助于降低功耗，OLED则只能通过快速的开关这些灯泡来使我们看起来亮度降低了，所以低亮度下屏幕是在闪烁的。并且OLED由于工作方式的问题，相对来说比较容易烧屏。

我们先从两款手机屏幕材质的名字上做一下区分，LCD（ Liquid Crystal Display）翻译过来就是液晶显示屏；OLED（Organic Light-Emitting Diode）翻译过来大概是叫有机电激光显示。而且在材料的硬度上面，LCD屏幕偏硬，而OLED屏幕偏软。主要是由于LCD屏幕主要是由两块平行的玻璃板构成，在玻璃板之间填充着液晶层、偏光片还有彩色滤光层等，只有在背光照射到屏幕上面的时候，屏幕才会发光。相比于LCD，OLED的构造则简化了许多，只用了两层薄膜和玻璃或塑料基板，无需背光模块及彩色滤光片，这得益于OLED材质自带发光的特性。
区分一款手机用的是哪种材质的屏幕，除了看说明书里面的介绍外，通过观察屏幕的一些特点也能分辨。在屏幕黑色的时候，有些泛白的是LCD屏幕，没有一点“杂质”的就是OLED屏幕。听了这么多，是不是感觉OLED屏幕要比LCD屏幕好上许多？其实这也不绝对，要看个人的喜好了。
如果我们单纯从色彩上来看的话，OLED屏幕给人的感觉会更加的艳丽，色彩更加的饱满。但是同样使用者也要忍受它自发光的特性，还有“烧屏”、“闪屏”的问题。而LCD屏幕显示会更加的清晰，给人的感觉更加的真实。所以虽然OLED在总体性能上更好一些，但是也不见得所有人都会买账，LCD屏幕也有独特的优点。
手机屏幕的区别
目前LCD屏幕和OLED屏幕都有各自有代表性的手机，像是iPhone XR就是目前使用LCD屏幕一款性能超好的手机，唯一的遗憾可能就是分辨率稍微受到了限制，画面没有做到非常细腻，但是我们也不能太吹毛求疵了。而OLED屏幕比较有代表性的手机可能就是三星的Galaxy Note9了。目前来看，两种材质的手机还处于平色秋色的阶段，不能说谁更好一些，但是因为屏下指纹的发展趋势和全面屏的普及，OLED的发展空间会更大一些。
所以在选择手机的时候，如果更喜欢色彩艳丽一些的，不妨试试OLED屏幕的，如果喜欢画面清晰一些的，可以考虑LCD屏幕的，看大家喜欢了。
