虽然稀有，但是还没有灭绝。
光明女神闪蝶（学名：Morpho Helena）：是鳞翅目、闪蝶科、闪蝶属的昆虫。前足相当退化，短小无爪。前翅R脉5条，常共柄。卵半圆球形。幼虫头上有突起，体节上有枝刺，腹足趾钩1至3序中列式。蛹为垂蛹。
生活习性
日间活动，飞翔迅速敏捷。雄蝶有领域性，翅膀反射出的金属光泽是向其它雄蝶表示其领域范围。它们和其他鳞翅目昆虫一样，也是完全变态。
生活史包括了卵、幼虫、蛹、成虫四个期。它们的卵呈垂蛹形，幼虫具有明显的彩色“毛丛”，且通常有一个尾叉，类似眼蝶的幼虫。幼虫一般群集生活，取食各种攀缘植物，特别是豆科植物，若遇到危险，会从体内的腺体发出刺激性气味，驱走捕食者。
